We arrived around 8pm and were warmly greeted by the front desk staff. Resorts had the better ratings of the hotels for it's price range. I spent hours reading reviews of Atlantic City hotels. I'm particular about the cleanliness of the hotels where I choose to lay my body. I like the vibe here - nothing pretentious and consistently well-maintained. I consider $35 a fair price to pay for the extra mobility, otherwise I would have had to let my husband walk alone. We rented a scooter for me so we could enjoy the boardwalk and the beautiful weather.
All the staff members we interacted with were pleasant and helpful. I'll kind of miss them and their rather cool furnishings when the hotel is fully renovated. This was one of the unrenovated rooms, but frankly I love these old-style accommodations just because they're so quirky and full of old-world charm, with lots of room to move around, fridge in the room and no annoying 'mini bar' to avoid. Allowing for the fact that a comp room doesn't always get you a view of the ocean (this one was of the heating vents), all my main criteria were met: the room was clean, the bed was comfortable and the floor was overall very quiet. We were there on June 19th in a comp room and once again we were completely satisfied with the hotel. My husband and I used to stay at the Showboat but have been staying at Resorts since Showboat closed.
